Sculpture Workshops 2014
Learn about sculpture in a fun and hands on way. You create sculptures you can be proud to show your friends. Some people find it hard to believe that you can get so much done in one day. Most workshops are designed to satisfy seasoned sculptors, improvers and beginners alike.

Workshops
Introduction to sculpture
In the one day Introduction to sculpture workshop you make an alginate mould and make a plaster cast. You will also carve your own sculpture using aerated concrete. You will have two competent sculptures to show your friends at the end of the workshop. The workshop starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm. There will be a break from 1pm to 2pm for lunch. Old clothes should be worn to the workshop.

Sculpting the Head in Clay (Stage 1)
You will sculpt the head in clay at the workshop. You will also make an armature for your sculpture. Students will also learn about sculpting tools, techniques and materials.

Sculpting the Head in Clay from a live model (Stage 2)
Using a live model you will sculpt the head in clay at the workshop. You will also make an armature for your sculpture. This is an advanced workshop. It is recommended that Stage 1 is completed before starting this workshop but it is not essential.

Mould Making and Casting the Clay Head in Plaster (Stage 3)
You will make a silicone mould and cast your clay head in plaster. You will get to keep your silicone mould to be able to create other copies of your work. You must have completed either stage 1 or stage 2 before starting this four day workshop.

Sculpting the Torso in Clay
You will sculpt the torso in clay at the workshop. You will also make an armature for your sculpture. Students will learn about the anatom of the torso.

More advanced workshops may be held throughout the year.
